Dino Crisis is an emblematic franchise that, although its last installment was not entirely good, continues to be missed by thousands of players around the world. For now it seems that there are no plans for him to return, but apparently that could have been different years ago and now there is a suspicion that an upcoming Capcom release could have been very close to being a new Dino Crisis.
What happens is that, in 2020, Capcom registered the Dino Crisis Online trademark; however, he quickly abandoned her. At some point in 2021, Capcom did not file a statement of use for the trademark, so the registration was canceled despite the company trying to renew it to protect it.

Different users consider that the above is a sign that Exoprimal was actually going to be a new installment of Dino Crisis. This would make sense since both are games that feature dinosaurs, plus the new online game features a redhead reminiscent of Regina, the protagonist of Dino Crisis.

But then why abandon the Dino Crisis Online name? It is likely that at some point in development Capcom preferred to take the game in another direction for various reasons. One of them is to avoid upsetting fans who are waiting for the return of the franchise. After all, a game as a service would have annoyed all those who want Dino Crisis to have remakes like Resident Evil or a new traditional-style installment.

It is worth mentioning that, so far, Capcom has not confirmed that Exoprimal has been born as a new Dino Crisis. So, we recommend taking this information with a grain of salt. We will stay tuned and let you know when we know more about it.
