Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, I Bindun and the Maria Letizia Verga Committee. These are the three nominations for the Inter Hall of Fame special prize for 2022: this is an annual recognition that joins the four players who make their entry into the Nerazzurri club’s register of unforgettables every season. In particular, the club awards this award to personalities or institutions that have marked Inter’s history from a sporting point of view, but also and above all by combining a social commitment that goes beyond fan support. Last year, for example, the votes were a plebiscite for Peppino Prisco: this year too the selection methods are the same, with the three candidates competing for victory through a survey available to Inter fan token holders in recent days, on the dedicated app. As for the other four names, the competition is halfway through: Ivano Bordon has been chosen among the goalkeepers, Maicon among the defenders and a midfielder and a striker are still missing.

Three reasons for three names. Rummenigge was selected because he doesn’t have the requisites to be elected to the players’ Hall of Fame: in fact, it is necessary to have won at least one trophy with the Nerazzurri, which is missing from the German’s bulletin board. The Binduns have been committed since 1982 to giving smiles to those who have received few in life: for example, their curriculum includes fundraising for educational communities for minors, housing communities and facilities for people with mental illness. Finally, the Maria Letizia Verga Committee which, since 1979, has as its objective the improvement of the overall quality of life of girls and boys affected by blood-oncological diseases. It is a pity that one cannot reward everyone.
