The incident happened on Sunday February 12 in via degli Orti, a Imola, it had tragic consequences. The young motorcyclist who was seriously injured did not make it, Matthew Cicognani he was 28 years old.
The accident occurred on Sunday afternoon. Matteo was riding his motorbike when in a straight stretch, lost control, going off the road to your right. Exiting the roadway a telephone line pole it was broken and in the frightening fall Matteo ended up, together with his motorbike, in the canal that runs alongside the road.
The boy he was rescued by some passers-by to then be subsequently transported with the ambulance at the Maggiore hospital in Bologna. In the immediate aftermath of the accident, the boy was able to speak with the doctors and with the local police officers who had intervened to carry out the findings.
So for nine days the boy struggled, but then his conditions worsened and there was nothing more that could be done. The parents agreed to organ harvesting. Matteo leaves behind his parents Luca and Elisa, and a 22-year-old sister.
