Deadpool 3 will bring back Wolverine played by the Australian actor
Hugh Jackman He is one of the most beloved and recognized actors in the Marvel universe. His portrayal of Wolverine has earned him critical and public acclaim for nearly two decades. However, not all have been advantages for the Australian, who has revealed that his role it has taken its toll on his voice.
In an interview with the program ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’, Jackman confessed that the fact having to grunt constantly as the character has caused him vocal cord damage. “I think I did do some damage,” the actor said. “I don’t know if it’s permanent or not, but I’ve definitely noticed a change.”
Jackman explained that the grunts were part of the character creation process and that he made them even when he wasn’t shooting. “It’s a way to get into character,” he said. “It’s like a meditation.” However, he admitted that it was also a way to intimidate his co-stars and the crew.
The actor joked that his voice had grown deeper and hoarse over the years and that this had helped him in some musical roles such as Jean Valjean in ‘Les miserables’ or PT Barnum in ‘The great showman’. “I think they liked that,” he said with a laugh.
Jackman will don his adamantium claws again for the tenth time in the upcoming ‘Deadpool 3‘, where you will share the screen with Ryan Reynolds. The actor announced his return to the character in a fun video with the Deadpool star, where they made fun of each other.
The film is scheduled for premiere in 2024 and it will be the First time Deadpool and Wolverine have met in a movie since ‘X-Men Origins: Wolverine’ (2009), where Reynolds played a very different version of the Merc with a Mouth.
