Huawei is preparing the launch of its new Nova 11and among its many features, there will be one that will especially attract the attention of many users, since will include a dynamic island or “Dinamic Island” similar to what we can find in the iPhone 14 Pro. But is this a shameless copy of Huawei with the latest Apple technology? Not so fast.
Dinamic Island was invented by Huawei… accidentally
Apple is number one selling its products. One only has to do a review of its most important releases throughout history to find messages that had a great impact among the public and in the industry itself. Whether due to a catchy term or a different point of view, many of the brand’s products end up laying the foundations for the next generations, and that is something that cannot be denied.
But history also leaves many cases of copies within those of Cupertino, and it seems that Dinamic Island has also been one of those cases of… let’s call it, inspiration.
And it is that when Apple surprised the world with its Dinamic Island, many hallucinated with the ingenuity of the system. The software-applied effect works, masking the camera and Face ID sensors quite well. However, the interesting thing about all this is that Apple had not been the first to do it.
Huawei has already launched a terminal previously, the Honor View 20through the subsidiary Honor that had a front camera in the form of a hole in the screen, and with the idea of taking advantage of the peculiarity of the hole, created some effects to surround the camera and show extra details. The presentation video of the device shows it perfectly, but the most striking thing is that we are talking about a phone that was launched in 2018, well before the iPhone 14 Pro.
New Huawei Nova 11 Series with Dinamic Island?
Everything indicates that Huawei is preparing the launch of its new Nova 11 Series, a terminal that in one of its versions would include a function similar to Apple’s Dinamic Island. And we say similar because it will be centered on the screen and will cover several more sensors than the front camera, giving a look very similar to that of the iPhone 14 Pro.
However, considering the above, it would be unfair to criticize Huawei for copying Apple’s design. It is true that the manufacturer has waited a long time to repeat the idea since it was presented in 2018 with Honor, and that it has taken advantage of Apple’s success to do the same, but technically they had the idea first.
At the moment it is unknown when these new teams will see the light, but considering that the MWC is just around the corner, we may know something about it very soon.
