Tim Gajser is hospitalized in Trento, after the terrible fall in the second heat of the Internazionali d’Italia in Pietramurata (click here for all the details). From the first moments after the accident, it was assumed that he had fractured the femur of his right leg, not only for the severe pain complained by Tim, but also for his position on the ground. Fracture confirmed now by HRC, through a press release that updates on his conditions. Tim will have surgery this morning (Monday 20/02) and only after a successful intervention can a return program be made. Below is the full Honda press release:
“Team HRC’s Tim Gajser crashed in the second heat of the Italian International Championship at Arco di Trento, landing heavily after a big jump, having to be carried off the track by doctors. After a full checkup in hospital, it was discovered that Gajser was broken right femur and will now need to have surgery to repair the injury.Once this has occurred it will be easier to determine a timeline for his return, but at this time we wish Tiga all the best with her surgery and hope she returns soon fully healthy.Gajser had just finished second in the first moto at the Trentino track and had used the Italian series as a warm-up before the start of the 2023 MXGP World Championship, where he would look to defend his fifth world title win of 2022.”
Update at 1pm: a post was published on Instagram, with a picture of Tim before entering the operating room. These are his words: ‘Thank you all for the nice messages. Injuries are part of this sport. I will come back stronger than before.’
