Following the merger of Warner Bros. Discovery, HBO Max, and DC Studios quickly began scrapping many of their projects that were in production or very close to completion, leaving many industry insiders in the lurch. Supergirl, Minx, and many Arrowverse projects were left with few options after their platforms dropped them without warning, creating a severe lack of stability for cast and crew members.

Following the cancellation of many TV series on Netflix in 2022, such as Space Force and Warrior Nun, the hype continues, but it could have dire consequences. With so many projects leaving streaming platforms without warning, An anonymous Hollywood executive is warning that another writers’ strike may be on the way., and that can have serious consequences on the state of many programs that are still in production. In an interview with Deadline, the executive hinted that the strike could be coming very soon.
“A writers’ strike potentially increases the number of shows canceled before they air,” a senior Big Three executive said of TV series. “Let’s say a network produces two episodes of a show they don’t particularly like and there’s a writers’ strike. I see that this is going to happen a lot in the coming months.” Of course, the last few months have been very complicated and for many reasonsand it seems that it is very far from concluding this context.
