GAZA – Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas on Friday (3/2/2023) “strongly” condemned the announcement Sudan about the normalization of relations with Israel .
“In the strongest terms, we condemn the announcement made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sudan regarding the normalization of relations with the Israeli occupation,” Hamas condemned in an official statement, as quoted by the Middle East Monitor.

Hamas believes that this move contradicts Sudan’s general stance towards normalizing relations with the occupying state of Israel and supporting the cause of a just Palestine.
“This announcement coincides with the escalation of the Israeli fascist occupation for its crimes against the Palestinian people for having killed 35 Palestinians since the beginning of 2023, including women and children. Not to mention the expansion of colonial settlements and the desecration of Christian and Islamic holy sites,” the statement continued. .
“We reaffirm our rejection of all forms of normalization by settler-colonial occupation and call on the Sudanese leadership to back down from this decision which is against the interests of the Sudanese brothers and will only serve the agenda of the Israeli occupation,” the statement added.

The normalization of Sudanese and Israeli relations came after a meeting between Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen and his Sudanese counterpart Ali Al-Sadiq in Khartoum.
After the meeting, the Sudanese Foreign Ministry said: “It has been agreed to move towards normalizing relations between the two countries.”
