Rockstar officially confirmed in February last year that Grand Theft Auto VI It’s been in development for a while now, and ever since the announcement was made, speculation and rumors about the game and what it will bring to the table have been going into overdrive. Much of that was fueled by a major leak back in September, which showed extensive footage of early alpha gameplay of the open-world title, and as you’d expect from any leak of this scale, it was a frustrating period for the game’s development team. at Rockstar.
Speaking to IGN recently, Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Rockstar’s parent company, Take-Two Interactive, touched on the matter. Echoing previous comments, Zelnick said that while the leak didn’t have an impact in a business sense and game development, it was “really frustrating and upsetting” for people working on the game on an “emotional and personal” level.
“We take leaks very seriously and it disappoints us all, it’s really frustrating and upsetting for the team. However, as a business matter, we are not affected. But as a personal and emotional matter, our teams are affected.”
At least we know that Grand Theft Auto VI is in development and that the work is going well and will come out when it is ready.
