FIFA has nominated three goalkeepers for the Goalkeeper of the Year award. It concerns the Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bounou, the Belgian Thibaut Courtois and Emiliano Martínez, who won the world title in Qatar with Argentina.
The women’s nominees have also been announced. These are the German Ann-Katrin Berger, the Chilean Christiane Endler and the English Mary Earps, who became European champion with her country under the leadership of national coach Sarina Wiegman.
FIFA will announce in the coming days who has a chance to win the Coach of the Year (m/f) and Footballer of the Year (m/f) awards. The choice is made by the national coaches and captains of all affiliated national teams and a select group of journalists. Football fans can also vote on the FIFA site.
The winners will be honored in Paris on 27 February.
