After the test days in Bahrain, Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc is particularly impressed by Red Bull, the team of world champion Max Verstappen. “I’ve seen them at work for three days now and they seem very strong to me,” said the Monegask, himself the fastest in the field on Saturday in his Ferrari in the morning session.
He said about his own team that there is still a lot of work to be done. “But I feel like things are moving in the right direction,” Leclerc continued. He said he trained hard during the winter break to be in top shape to start the new season. The first race is next weekend in Bahrain.
According to Leclerc, the chances for his team have increased compared to last year. “Our new car is very different from last year’s. We should be better able to compete with Red Bull as a result. I’ve tried a lot of things in the last few days. I think I’m getting a better understanding of what the best approach is for this car. Presumably We have become faster on the straights, we may still have some problems in the corners.”
Verstappen did not take action on the last day of testing in Bahrain.
