BRUSSELS, 01 FEB – Inflation in the eurozone is expected to reach 8.5% in January, down from 9.2% in December, according to Eurostat’s flash estimate. Among the individual components, the figure for energy prevails (17.2%, compared to 25.5% in December). The estimate for Italy is for inflation to drop to 10.9%, compared to 12.3% in December. Among the countries with the highest inflation rates are Latvia (21.6%) Estonia (18.8%) and Lithuania (18.4%). Conversely, Spain and Luxembourg (5.8%). (HANDLE).
