ANKARA – Earthquake devastating magnitude 7.8 rocked Turki and surrounding countries on Monday (6/2/2023) tore down many buildings. Data while ten people died and many more trapped in the ruins of the building.
The earthquake rocked southeastern Turkey at around 04:17 local time. It was followed by aftershocks that were felt in Syria, Israel, Lebanon and Cyprus.
Ten deaths have been reported in Turkey and there are fears that the number will rise. Other countries have not reported casualty data.

Turkey has made a formal appeal for international assistance as the emergency response continues.
Pictures that have been circulating show many buildings collapsed and debris scattered on the streets.
“Initial M 7.7 earthquake in southeastern Turkey, which appeared to be relatively shallow; felt probably over most of the area,” weather photographer Sam Sagnella wrote on Twitter.
“Earthquakes of this size generally require an international response. Significant damage is likely at the local level,” he continued.
“Really bad business, and this earthquake has undoubtedly affected people across the Middle East.”
A Twitter user in Israel wrote: “Feels in Israel waking everyone up. Everything is shaking.”
