After 10 years since the release of Dead Space 3, the series was revived thanks to the remake of the first game. Many wonder if this means that Electronic Arts will take the franchise out of the freezer and there is good news, because those responsible for the project say they are interested in continuing to explore the saga… although achieving it will not be so easy.
Like many Dead Space fans, the developers in charge of the remake Phil Ducharme and Roman Campos-Oriola expressed in an interview with GQ that they not only want to continue developing the saga, but also already have ideas.
“Sure, it’s a hope we have. There’s interest on my side and I think Roman’s — you can see his smile — in exploring Dead Space more. There are ideas, of course,” the developer said.

The future of Dead Space is in the hands of Electronic Arts
Ducharme believes that Dead Space promoted the horror genre in a decade in which good exponents were not abundant, but he also recognized that shortly after “it disappeared from the map.”
It is clear, then, that the leaders of EA Motive, no matter how much they want to work on Dead Space, everything depends on the EA executives, who are the ones who finally approve or reject the projects. Best of all, both creatives won’t stop there, but after their well-deserved vacation they will return to work and sit down with Electronic Arts to discuss what’s next for the studio.
In case you missed it: acclaimed horror filmmaker John Carpenter praised the Dead Space remake.
EA Motive’s intentions to continue working with the Dead Space franchise have been made clear even in the remake. It was discovered that in the new title there is a clue that refers to Dead Space 2, perhaps hinting at the possible development of the remake of the second game.
However, one element that will undoubtedly be key to allowing Electronic Arts to make the decision to continue the series is the sales of the game. Although the remake has managed to sell a considerable number of copies, the truth is that it cannot speak of a great success either. However, we must also take into account that critics and the general public have received the game very well and, despite everything, it is possible that it meets Electronic Arts’ expectations.
