Suara.com – An earthquake rocked the Cianjur region on November 21, 2022 with a magnitude of 5.6. The earthquake destroyed a number of houses in Cianjur residents. As many as 13,633 houses were heavily damaged, 16,059 houses were moderately damaged, and 26,856 houses were slightly damaged. Meanwhile, 114,683 people were displaced, 602 people died and 593 people suffered cumulative serious injuries.
Due to this incident, the Dompet Dhuafa Disaster Management Center (DMC) has carried out various emergency response-recovery services, starting from 21 November 2022 to now 9 February 2023. By entering the recovery phase, Dompet Dhuafa is intensifying the Cianjur post-earthquake recovery assistance program.
Through the title “Bantos Cianjur Recover: Make Smiles, Eliminate Pain” DMC Dompet Dhuafa invites the public to collaborate in an earthquake-affected recovery program in Cianjur in a Press Conference on Thursday (9/2/2023).
“Dompet Dhuafa distributes assistance from donors, Dompet Dhuafa makes an effort to make the community’s needs come true. Dompet Dhuafa will help Cianjur until the end of 2023,” concluded Yayat Supriatna as Secretary of the Dompet Dhuafa Republika Foundation in his remarks.
As is well known, the earthquake has claimed the entire life of the Cianjur people. As a result, starting from the economic sector, culture, education and even daily life is distorted. In line with that, Dompet Dhuafa continues to provide the best service for the handling and recovery of survivors affected by the earthquake in Cianjur.
“Indonesia’s tectonics, namely the Indo-Australian Plate and the Eurasian Plate, make Indonesia prone to earthquakes. The meeting of these plates causes faults, including the Cianjur fault,” said Dr. Muzli as Plt. Head of the Center for Engineering Seismology, Potential Geophysics and Time Signs of the BMKG.
Through the emergency response units of the Dompet Dhuafa network which are under the command of the DMC such as the Health Emergency Response (RDK) Free Health Service (LKC), Corps Dai Dompet Dhuafa Emergency Response (Cordofa), Community Service Institutions (LPM), and Emergency Response Education (RDP Human Development Institute (LPI), invites collaboration in rebuilding Cianjur to recover from the downturn in the earthquake.
“Today’s press conference aims as an effort to be transparent in detail what has been collected is distributed correctly and appropriately. Dompet Dhuafa ensures that after the Cianjur earthquake all sectors can recover, such as education, health, etc., “concluded Etika Setiawanti as Director of Resources and Mobilization (Remo) of Dompet Dhuafa.
During the Early Recovery phase, DMC Dompet Dhuafa has built 11 MCK facilities, four Emergency Mosques, and three Semi-Permanent Mosques. With the distribution of locations in the area of Cugenang District, Warungkondang District, and Pacet District.
“The recovery period is very long, at least three months. The hope for the recovery stage is Dompet Dhuafa as one of the NGOs that still cares about the people of Cianjur,” explained Budhi Rahayu Toyib as Regional Assistant II for Economic Affairs and Development for the Cianjur Regency Government.
In addition, there is also a Temporary Housing development program in collaboration with Islamic Relief. includes: 83 temporary houses, 21 MCK, 23 wells, 5600 Cash Voucher Assistance, and 540 Cash for Work with details of 500 thousand/person.
“Islamic Relief assistance is mostly in logistics, while Dompet Dhuafa is in all sectors. There are still many hundreds of people who are still sleeping in tents. The government has tried hard but there are many obstacles that must be faced, such as land status, etc. Islamic Relief fills this gap. The model house that has been built is in the Cijedil area,” said Nanang S. Dirja, Chief Executive Officer of the Indonesian Islamic Relief Foundation.

Residential Sector
DMC Dompet Dhuafa is targeting the construction of 100 temporary shelters called Huntara Bumi Endah Dompet Dhuafa (Bunga) with the concept of a recycle house, and an earthquake-resistant school. In the plan, 100 Flower Hunts will be located in two locations in Cugenang District, namely Pangkalan Village, Benjot Village, and Sarampad Village, Sarampad Village.
“The Flower House uses reusable materials by involving the community and carpentry training for 10 groups. In about 1-3 months,” explained Haryo Mojopahit as Chief Executive of DMC Dompet Dhuafa in his speech.
DMC Dompet Dhuafa carries Huntara Bunga or what is called Bumi Endah Dompet Dhuafa with the concept of a recycle house, namely building shelters from the remains of house debris. Of course also added with new building materials. Huntara Bunga itself consists of two bedrooms, a living room and a terrace with an area of 7 x 5 square meters
“The category of damage to houses due to disasters refers to Ministerial Regulation of PUPR No. 29 of 2018 concerning Technical Standards for Public Works and Public Housing Minimum Services or Guidelines for Implementation of Post-Disaster Needs Assessment,” BNPB.
Prior to building shelters, DMC Dompet Dhuafa will form a community group consisting of 10 heads of families. After being formed, DMC Dompet Dhuafa will share about the construction of shelters with the recycle concept, starting from size, materials, to architecture, and instilling a spirit of empowerment. When the group has been formed and has socialized the recycling house, the community will work together to build shelters for each member of the group.
“I am very happy to have got a huntara from Dompet Dhuafa. Before going to the huntara, I spent about four days in the tent until we fought over the tarpaulins,” confessed Agu Halahudin as the pilot beneficiary of the Bunga Huntara.
Education Sector
Dompet Dhuafa will continue assisting the CERIA School Program (Smart Literacy, Joyful and Safe) which will be centered in Cibulakan Village, Cugenang District. It is hoped that this program will become a model that can be imparted to other schools outside Cibulakan Village. The target schools to be modeled are:

Social Service Sector
A. Orphan Survivor Assistance Program
It is an orphan family assistance program that uses 2 patterns of assistance, namely education costs assistance for orphans who are survivors of the Cianjur earthquake who are experiencing economic difficulties, and food assistance for orphan families who have difficulty meeting food needs by partnering with local grocery/grocery stalls as food suppliers .
Target beneficiaries of the orphan survivor assistance program 100 beneficiaries spread across the following areas:
– Talaga Village, Cugenang District.
– Mangunkerta Village, Cugenang District.
– Cibulakan Village, Cugenang District
– Kp. Manglad RT 02 RW 02 Sukawangi Village District. Warungkondang
B. Survivors Family Nutrition Package Assistance Program
This is a nutritional assistance program that is given to families of survivors who have elderly, pregnant women, babies, and children who are malnourished. Nutrition package assistance contains basic needs and health supplements such as vitamins.
Target beneficiaries of the orphan survivor assistance program 200 beneficiaries spread across the following areas:

All infrastructure programs have considered the geographical conditions that make it safe and comfortable for survivors.
In addition, hundreds of packages for kitchen kits, thousands of food packages and ready-to-eat meals, as well as school packages, hygiene and baby kits. It has been distributed by DMC Dompet Dhuafa, in collaboration with Donors and Good Friends.
Until now (as of 8 February 2023) DMC Dompet Dhuafa has provided various services. Starting from SAR-Evacuation services, Health Services (Medical, Nutrition Corner, Pemulasar Barzah, Cleanliness is Healthy, and Massage Therapy), Evacuation Services (Mobile Kitchens, Public Kitchens, and Distribution), Logistics Services (Food and Non-Food Logistics Distribution) ), Psychosocial Support Services (Psychological First Aid, Happy Quran Study Center, and Taman Ceria), and Early Recovery Services (MCK, Mushola, and Huntara). With a total beneficiary reaching 80,325 people of service.
