Deventer is investigating merging Burgerweeshuis and theater, but also the Havenkwartier location

The Burgerweeshuis has been fighting for a new location for years: the music venue wants and has to move and sees the harbor area as an ideal location. “There is a ready-made, calculated, validated and better plan for a new Burgerweeshuis on the harbor island,” said director Hammer earlier. “That complex fits us like a glove. Industrial heritage with a raw edge. We can move forward with that for the next 40 years.”
