The Tottenham midfielder will undergo surgery on his left knee in the next few hours
Bad news for Tottenham on the eve of the Champions League round of 16 first leg against Milan. The team coached by Antonio Conte loses Rodrigo Bentancur for the rest of the season. The Uruguayan midfielder – as announced by the club itself – suffered a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Bentancur will be operated on in the next few hours before starting rehabilitation with the medical staff. The former Juventus player opened the scoring for Spurs against Leicester but was forced off after 65 minutes with an injury sustained. Tottenham then collapsed, losing 4-1 at the King Power Stadium.
