Since yesterday there has been an endless queue of friends, acquaintances, fans, ordinary people, both young and old, at the funeral home set up in Perugia to pay homage to Ilario Castagner. Many are going to the San Sisto district to pay their last respects to the man and the coach who made the history of the city, leading that “Perugia dei Miracoli” which finished unbeaten in Serie A in the 1978/79 season. finishing second behind Milan, and embracing his family, his wife Liliana, their children Francesco, Federico and Laura and his adored grandchildren. Tomorrow, Tuesday, at 3.30 pm, there will be the last farewell with the funeral: the mass will be celebrated in the parish of San Giovanni Battista in the Ferro di Cavallo district, near the Curi Stadium. Perugia Calcio will be present with the whole team and also with a delegation of managers, while delegations from other clubs from all over Italy have been announced.
