Athlete Femke Bol has won her first indoor competition of the season with great conviction. In the Boston Grand Prix, the three-time European champion was the fastest in the 500 meters in 1.05.63, an uncommon distance that Bol does not often run. The 22-year-old Dutch sharpened the unofficial world record of the Russian Olesya Krasnomovets (1.06.31) considerably.
Two Jamaicans and Lisanne de Witte took part in the competition. De Witte finished fourth in 1:09.87. Number 2 Leah Anderson had to admit almost 3 seconds to Bol.
Bol is aiming for new success at the upcoming European Indoor Championships in Istanbul (2-5 March). There she wants to extend her European title in the 400 meters of Torun 2021. Last year, the Amersfoort woman won the unique double 400 meters and 400 meters hurdles at the European Outdoor Championships in Munich. She added a third gold medal with the relay team in the 4×400 meters.
