Sumatran voice – Mayor of Medan Bobby Nasution attended the Thaipusam Festival in Medan. Bobby also brought his wife Kahiyang Ayu and their children Sedah Mirah Nasution and Panembahan Al Nahyan Nasution.

One of the photos shows Bobby wearing a blue shirt carrying Sedah Mirah on his shoulders. While chairman Nahyan was carried by a Paspampres.
In his upload, Bobby called Medan an extraordinary city. The reason is, there are various tribes, religions to cultures in it.

“Our city Medan is indeed extraordinary. There are various tribes, religions, ethnicities and cultures in it, but it has never been an obstacle for us to remain united. The people of Medan are indeed top of matters of harmony and unity,” he wrote.
“Like tonight, the Medan Street Festival Thaipusam 2023 took place safely and smoothly. Our Hindu brothers and sisters held it with great joy. There were lots of art performances and also an MSME bazaar,” he continued.
Bobby admitted that Pemko Medan continues to strive to maintain and care for harmony to the values of tolerance.
“We Pemko Medan continue to make maximum efforts and continue to invite all of us to maintain and care for harmony, diversity and values of tolerance in the city of Medan. Let’s continue to collaborate to create a city of Medan that is blessed, advanced and conducive,” he wrote.

“Salute is indeed the same as Medan. The number of churches, mosques, temples, monasteries is almost the same. It’s different from Jakarta, where churches and mosques are dominant,” wrote netizens.
