BEIJING, 25 FEB – The President of Belarus, Aleksander Lukashenko, will pay a state visit to China from 28 February to 2 March, at the invitation of the Chinese president, Xi Jinping. This was revealed by the Beijing Foreign Ministry. “At the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, President of Belarus Aleksander Lukashenko will pay a state visit to China from February 28 to March 2,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Hua Chunying said. “China is willing to work with Minsk to deepen mutual political trust,” Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang said in a telephone conversation yesterday with his Belarusian colleague Serghei Aleinik, Beijing revealed today. Last year Xi and Lukashenko, the latter a close ally of Moscow, met in Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on the occasion of an international summit and the two announced an “unconditional” partnership.
