Valentino Rossi’s BMW number 46 finished sixth on the legendary Mount Panorama track
Honorable sixth place for Valentino Rossi at the 12 Hours of Bathurst, the first round of the Intercontinental GT Challenge 2023. The driver from Tavullia, who raced in the legendary Australian race together with his teammates Augusto Farfus and Maxime Martin at the wheel of a BMW M4 GT3 of the WRT team, finished about a lap behind the race winners, Kenny Habul, Jules Goudon and Luca Stolz of Mercedes.
Qualifying eighth but starting from sixth place on the starting grid due to the penalty of two competitors, Valentino Rossi and his team came one step away from placing on the podium, and from repeating the third place obtained at the Dubai 24 Hours.
But a technical problem at the end of the race cost the Doctor and his team the podium. Not bad for Valentino, who confirmed his good feeling on the BMW and will now face the GT World Challenge Europe with more confidence, which kicks off in Monza on the weekend of 23 April.
