The Golden State Warriors basketball players were too strong in the NBA game with Oklahoma City Thunder, even without Stephen Curry: 141-114. The star player sustained a potentially serious knee injury on Saturday. Klay Thompson then led the defending champion to the big win, thanks in part to no fewer than 12 three-pointers.
Thompson totaled 42 points. With his 12 throws from distance, he became the second player after Curry to hit 12 or more 3-pointers in multiple games. Thompson is the record holder with 14 three-pointers in one game, a feat he made in 2018.
All-Star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 20 points for Oklahoma, which has lost three of its last four games.
Boston Celtics, leader in the eastern division, beat the Detroit Pistons: 99-111. Big man at Boston was again Jayson Tatum with 34 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Tatum already scored 30 points or more against Detroit twice this season. With 38 wins against 16 losses, his team is the best performing in the American professional league NBA.
