MILAN, 14 FEB – The rates applied by banks to new mortgages for the purchase of homes are still on the rise. According to what emerges from the Abi monthly report in January, following the decisions of the ECB, the average rate on new transactions for the purchase of homes is 3.53% (3.01% the previous month, 5.72% at the end of 2007) . “We have returned to the values of November 2013”, explains the deputy general manager of the ABI, Gianfranco Torriero who highlights how “the relevant issue is that the demand for housing is not only functional to the rates applied but, above all, to the prices of the housing and disposable income.
