Back 4 Blood, a cooperative shooter developed by Turtle Rock Studios, drew attention for its concept that immediately reminded the greatness of Left 4 Dead and its sequel. It debuted in 2021 with great success around it, and since then, players have been able to enjoy new content. Unfortunately, everything has an end.
Back 4 Blood will stop receiving new content; Will your servers be shutting down?
Through a post on its official website, Turtle Rock Studios thanked the support of users who played the multiplayer zombie FPS in recent months. However, he confirms that the “war against the Riddens is over.” In a nutshell, he confirmed that he will stop working on new content.
While this news will be disappointing for Back 4 Blood fans, the studio confirmed that it is already working on a new project, although it did not reveal any further details about it.

“Turtle Rock Studios is pretty small for a studio that makes AAA games. We don’t have enough people to work on new Back 4 Blood content while we release another game, yes another game! Because of this, it’s time for us to put our heads down, get back to the lab, and get to work on the next big thing.”
Of course, the company affirms that the cooperative shooter will continue to operate, which means that the servers will not close soon. In fact, remember that PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium users and Xbox Game Pass subscribers can download and play the title for free.
“While we may be a little calmer in the short term, we promise we’ll be back bigger, bolder and better than ever!” the study concludes.
Since its release in October 2021, Back 4 Blood has received 3 paid expansions: Tunnels of Terror, Children of the Worm, and River of Blood; each introduced new characters, weapons, and other novelties. Although the game had excellent commercial performance during its first few weeks on the market, it was unable to curb the popularity of Left 4 Dead.
But tell us, what do you think of this news? Do you still play this cooperative zombie title? Let us read you in the comments.
Back 4 Blood is available for PC, Xbox One, Xbox Series X | S, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. You will find more news related to this multiplayer proposal if you click here.
