Athlete Femke Bol has again impressed in the 400 meters. The 22-year-old from Amersfoort stopped the clock after 50.20 seconds at the athletics meeting of the World Indoor Tour in Liévin, France. That was slightly less fast than last Saturday’s 49.96 in Metz.
Bol led the entire race, just like in Metz. Started from the outer lane, she was the first to cross the finish line after 200 meters. She pushed hard in the second round, but was unable to get under 50 seconds again.
With her Dutch record of 49.96, she is the fourth fastest athlete of all time in the 400 meters indoor. The Czech Jarmila Kratochvilova holds the world record with 49.59. She ran that time in 1982. The Russian Natalja Nazarova (49.68) and the Czech Tatana Kocembova (49.76) are also above Bol on the eternal ranking.
