Suara.com – Sales of four-wheeled passenger cars in the country recorded positive results earlier this year. Based on data from the Association of Indonesian Automotive Industries or Gaikindo, total domestic sales for January 2023 reached 94,087 units. Meanwhile, the acquisition a year ago in the same period was at 84,149 units.
Excerpted from the official Astra Group release as received Suara.com, the total sales of Low Cost Green Car or LCGC products for January 2023 were 20,701 units. Meanwhile, the record for the same period last year was at 12,117 units.
“Data on Astra car sales in January 2023 experienced a 15 percent increase compared to the same period last year,” said Boy Kelana Soebroto, Astra’s Head of Corporate Communications.

“We hope that national car sales for 2023 will continue to be positive, and can contribute to national economic growth,” he continued.

From the Astra Group itself, sales of Toyota and Lexus products in January 2023 reached 28,996 units. Compared to the acquisition in the same period last year, or January 2022, it reached 22,886 units.
Meanwhile, the Daihatsu brand, which is usually in second place in national sales, recorded 18,194 units in January 2023. Compared to the same period last year, the result was 18,319 units.
In the LCGC sector, Astra Group products were successfully sold in January 2023 totaling 14,206 units. For the same period last year there were 8,728 units. An interesting note because this year’s opener was almost double last year’s acquisition in the same period.
Meanwhile, sales of non-Astra LCGC products totaled 43,332 units for January 2023, while in the same period in 2022 there were 39,841 units.
In total, sales of LCGC cars from Gaikindo members in January 2023 reached 20,701 units, while in the same period in 2022 there were 12,117 units.

As for market share, Astra’s market share reached 54 percent in January 2023, while in the same period last year it was 53 percent. Likewise Astra LCGC has a market share of 69 percent for January 2023, with the acquisition for the same period last year of around 72 percent.
