Angry Birds has amassed more than 400 million downloads worldwide, and while it was free to play at the beginning, it eventually went paid-for to offer an ad-free experience. For $0.99, the classic version of Angry Brids could be purchased through the Play Store and the App Store, and we said it was possible because the buy button is no longer available in the Google store.
The game will disappear on February 23 to make way for the new generation of games that Rovio has in its catalogue, a somewhat strange decision that is easy to understand when the brand has explained the situation.

Gamers prefer Angry Birds
Although it was the only paid game from the firm, it was also the only one without advertising and without micropayments, something that users prefer, a decision that the brand has suffered hard over time. For this reason, users kept downloading Angry Birds, and did not pay attention or were not particularly interested in playing the other games, such as Angry Birds 2 or Bad Piggies.
And it is that if users prefer to make a single payment of 99 cents, they lose all these large purchases in the form of micropayments and income from ads that are so beneficial in other applications.
On iOS it changes its name
The funny thing is that in iOS the application will continue to exist, although it will be renamed Red’s First Flight, thus forgetting the well-known brand with the idea of trying to go unnoticed in the application store. Therefore, the original Angry Birds game would continue to be present on Apple devices, and on Android, anyone who uninstalls it will not be able to play it again.

Don’t be too dramatic. As we have mentioned, if you already had the game installed on Android you will be able to continue playing as always, and if you do it from iOS, the application will continue to appear in the App Store, although with a different name.
