On the occasion of the Mugello GP, Andrea Dovizioso will be named MotoGP Legend.
Andrea won the 125cc World Championship in 2004the title was played in the 250 class and then made his MotoGP debut in 2008, taking his first podium finish in the premier class as a rookie. The following season Dovizioso achieved his first victory in the category and until the team change in 2011 he always came close to the podium. The following season saw him make his debut for Yamaha Tech3, where he again claimed numerous podiums, before moving to the factory Ducati team in 2013. From then on, a journey towards incredible successes began for the two.
In 2014 Dovizioso achieved two podiums, in 2015 five and in 2016 another five, including one historic victory in the Malaysian Grand Prix. This kicked off a resurgence of incredible leading form, as Dovizioso was runner-up in the championship in 2017, 2018 and 2019, getting 12 wins in just three seasons. His latest victory came in his final season with Ducati at the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix.
After a short sabbatical, Dovizioso returned to competition in the latter part of 2021 as an Independent Team rider with Yamaha before retiring after the Misano GP in 2022.
