In love and war, anything goes
In this game we will accompany Shanao, the youngest son of the Genji clan, who has lived in seclusion in the mountains to stay safe after the victory of the Heike clan. However, there is a secret that very few know: Shanao is a woman. Finding herself caught between her destiny as a Genji descendant and her own desires to live a peaceful life away from war.Shanao will not think twice and will leave together with Shungen, his childhood friend, to restore peace in the country.
During this adventure, she will meet new allies who will support her cause, willing to give their lives for her if necessary. In this way, Shanao will embark with the rest in search of his brother, Yoritomo no Minamoto, upon learning that he is preparing to face his enemies: the Heike clan. Nevertheless, her gender is not the only secret she hides: has a power -almost monstrous- that possesses her in combat, making her stronger than any ordinary soldier. She will soon discover that she is not the only one who has this strength within her, with all that it implies. Who is she really if not who she has always believed herself to be?
Being an otome game, we have a total of five routes, including enemies and allies among romantic interests. In this way, we will be able to experience the story from different perspectives: from Shanao feeling that she is betraying her clan by falling in love with the enemy to suffering from being involved in a war that also has the love of her life trapped. Each route has four endings: two bad endings, a tragic ending and a good ending, the latter giving an illustration. Also, secondary characters without a path of its own they have a small romantic ending with illustration included.
Fight to survive and survive to love
The election system will not only affect romance with the characters, but we can also raise three aspects of Shanao: Wisdom, Strength and Kindness (which will help, especially, to get the bad endings). The game features a Flowchart (diagrama) that will make it easier for us to jump between episodes and replay the routes to get all the endings. There is also the function of Dictionary (glosario)quite useful in a game of this caliber, which is full of historical references and terms of the time.
The art is provided by Haneda Koujigiving a very unique art style to the game. Birushana It has a good number of illustrations per route, as well as being one of the most beautiful arts in currently localized otome games: they are very colorful and very dynamic illustrations, as well as having a very varied design in terms of characters. Itou Ai returns to command the management, whom we already met with Nightshadeachieving another great success and following the line of their games: a lot of drama, but also romance.
The game features a japanese dubbing of great quality, having worked on it voice actors such as Furukawa Makoto, Saito Soma and Fukuyama Jun, among others. Shanao, the protagonist, has no voice. The localization has only reached us in English.
In general terms, Birushana It is an outstanding otome game as it has a very interesting story based on true events that is complemented by many long routes and great visuals. Thus, it is only weighed down by action scenes that take longer than necessary and little dose of romance Compared to other games in the genre.
