Without a doubt, Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most controversial video games today. For months, groups of people organized boycotts to prevent the success of the title, since each copy sold helps JK Rowling financially. In the midst of these efforts, a developer created a simulator that is intended to make fun of the people who support the project.
The game in question is called Hogwarts Legacy Purchase Simulator, and it is a text experience that mocks the controversy surrounding the writer and the open-world video game developed by Avalanche Software. Even though it’s no longer available, it made enough noise to get players’ attention.

Shopping Simulator Mocks Hogwarts Legacy And JK Rowling Controversy
Now, what is this proposal? As its name suggests, it is a simulator that puts the player in the shoes of a person who wishes to acquire the title of Harry Potter.
The story begins with David Zaslav, general director of Warner Bros., who invites the user to purchase the video game to support “the developers who worked very hard.” Right away, a woman named Ashley responds and claims that JK Rowling will make a profit from the sales. The comments of some famous streamers like Asmongold are also collected.
The simulator concludes with an appearance by the British writer, who congratulates the player on acquiring many copies of Hogwarts Legacy. Otherwise, she shows her discontent and accuses him of “silencing women.”

As we already pointed out, Hogwarts Legacy Purchase Simulator is not available, because when trying to access the website an error message appears. It is unknown if he will return at some point.
This satirical experience follows the growing controversy surrounding Hogwarts Legacy and boycott attempts. While many gamers will refrain from purchasing the title to show their support for LGBTQIA+ and transgender people, many others say there are better ways to help.
In the midst of this debate, a developer who worked on the game as a technician expressed his support for the protests and stated that he had joined the boycott. “People like JK Rowling don’t deserve to prosper,” he argued in a post on Twitter.
But tell us, what do you think of the simulator? Let us read you in the comments.
Hogwarts Legacy is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC; versions for PS4, Nintendo Switch and Xbox One will follow later. You can find more information about this Harry Potter game if you click here.
