Various video game creators oppose James Gunn’s plans for DC. The creative wants to unify the movies, series and games with the same canon and actors; however, many believe that the idea will fail because of his ambition. Now, a developer from Marvel’s Midnight Suns has joined the critics and explained why he thinks it’s a bad idea.
Jake Solomon, creative of Firaxis, also believes that Gunn is going the wrong way, since it will be very difficult to have the same actors from the movies in the video games. He also thinks that this idea will have a strong impact on voice actors in the industry.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns Creative Worries About DC’s Future
Salomon envisioned a hypothetical scenario where Marvel would have asked them to work with the movie actors for each of the characters in Marvel’s Midnight Suns. From his perspective, this would have been a real headache.
So he believes that Gunn’s approach is not entirely wise in wanting to use the same actors for all productions. Also, she worries about what might happen to the voice actors in the video game industry if Gunn gets a way to make it happen.
“This would have been a nightmare for us at Midnight Suns. I understand the desire (I think), but movies and games are so, so different. And the pressure this puts on the amazing voice actors in the gaming space? different universes. And that’s how they should/will stay,” Salomon said.

Earlier this week, former Rocksteady member and Batman Arkham developer Del Walker called Gunn crazy for the same reasons. He believes that the creative will not have the resources or be able to convince Hollywood actors to invest time in video games.
“Think you can get Robert Pattinson to beat a voice actor? And for a budget that makes sense? Good luck. Games and cartoons are not 2 hour Pixar movies. These media have thousands of lines. Hours of dialogue,” Walker previously stated.
