On Monday evening, a gunman entered two buildings of a Michigan university (in the northeastern United States) and started shooting: police said he killed at least three people and wounded five, some of them found in the hospital in serious condition. The man, whose name has not been released, shot himself dead before being arrested.
The attack was carried out at Michigan State University, respectively in Berkey Hall, headquarters of the Sociology department, and near the MSU Union, a building used by students to meet, study or eat. The police found the assailant’s body after four hours of searching: it is not known what links he had with the university and investigations are underway. Meanwhile at Michigan State University, which has about 50,000 students, classes and events have been canceled for 48 hours.
