The biancocelesti score at the end of the first half from a penalty and in recovery with the Brazilian: an important success that casts the shadows on Sarri’s team. Immobile stops, forced to leave in the 15th minute. Neroverdi in deep crisis
January 15 – REGGIO EMILIA
Lazio returns to success and thus emerges from the mini-crisis of this beginning of the year. Pitch dark instead for Sassuolo who collects the fourth consecutive defeat and sees the relegation zone dangerously approaching. Dionisi’s formation this time doesn’t even have the extenuating factor of the game, only that of absences. Disappointing against a Lazio which is not particularly sparkling, careful to appear more square than beautiful. Sarri’s formation imposes itself with two goals scored in injury time of the two halves. The goal that ends the game comes at the end of the first half thanks to the penalty converted by Zaccagni. The definitive 2-0 is by Anderson in the fourth of the five minutes of added time. The only discordant note for the Biancocelesti is Immobile’s injury. The attacker stops after just a quarter of an hour due to a muscle problem. A strain is feared.
Zaccagni before the break
—
Sassuolo started in a strong-willed way and in the first five minutes made themselves dangerous with Laurentie, but both of the Frenchman’s conclusions were deflected for a corner. Lazio responded immediately, in the 6th minute, with a double Zacagni-Anderson shot. The ex Verona’s shot was rejected with some difficulty by Pegolo, Anderson shoots high from an excellent position on the rebuttal. These first skirmishes seem to be the prelude to a race full of emotions on both sides. Instead it is a flash in the pan. In fact, the match goes into hibernation, with the two teams preferring to control each other rather than sink. The ardor of Sarri’s team is also quenched by the injury of Immobile who gives up after just a quarter of an hour due to a muscle problem (resentment in the flexor of the right thigh, a strain is feared). Sarri brings in Pedro and moves Anderson to the center in the role of false nueve. Lazio struggles to immerse themselves in this new version without their bomber in the center and produces practically nothing until the final minutes of the half. Sassuolo, visibly contracted after the last shots, did not take advantage of it, even if from time to time they show up around Provedel. The Lazio goalkeeper had to intervene twice around the 44th minute to neutralize the shots from Laurentie and Frattesi. But a minute later here is Lazio suddenly awakening. A Luis Alberto-Pedro combination leads the latter to a conclusion on which Tressoldi sacrifices himself. But on the following corner Luis Alberto’s trajectory finds Milinkovic’s head: Toljan intercepts the ball with his hand and it’s a penalty (which Pairetto decrees only after the intervention of the Var). Zaccagni realizes from the diskette.
Felipe closes

The recovery begins with Sassuolo looking for a draw. Dionisi throws in Maxim Lopez for Obiang and Defrel for the dull Alvarez. Subsequently, the coach will also play the cards Ceide (for Laurentie) and Thorstvedt (for Traore). But the home team appears lackluster, especially at the time of the last pass. Thus, apart from a few scrums in the area that nearly materialised, the only real goal for the Emilians in the second half was a header by Frattesi from a corner by Berardi: the midfielder’s shot went just over the top. Lazio were more effective as they controlled operations in midfield and were dangerous on the counter-attack, even though they didn’t give themselves up. The 2-0 could arrive in the quarter of an hour if Anderson capitalized better on Milinkovic’s excellent assist. Or five minutes later if Pedro were more specific about the landscape than Luis Alberto. So Sarri’s team must suffer to the end. In fact, the doubling that closed the match came in the fourth of five minutes of added time with Felipe Anderson taking advantage of Trerssoldi’s indecision and going all alone to score the 2-0 goal.
