The Iwata crossover evolves into this new Tracer 9 GT+ version by adopting cutting-edge electronics, which in addition to the IMU inertial platform also includes a millimeter wave radar. This allows the engine and braking control unit to offer new functions, including the first unified braking system: using the inertial platform and the radar, the Bosch hydraulic group adjusts the actions on the calipers, optimizing braking. It intervenes in three situations, again to guarantee maximum safety: it distributes the braking power on the axles during normal braking; adjust it appropriately when braking into a corner; increases braking power pressure if it detects a danger of a collision. Added to this is adaptive cruise control which automatically maintains a fixed distance from the vehicle in front. The system is integrated with the engine and with the electronic suspension, and to slow the bike it acts first on the engine and then on the brakes, at the same time adjusting the damping force of the suspension to ensure stability.
All these functions are monitored and managed with the new 7” color TFT, which offers three themes, connectivity with the Yamaha MyRide app and full screen navigation with the Garmin system. The technique remains unchanged: 890 cc CP3 engine, 119 HP at 10,000 rpm and 93 Nm at 7,000 rpm with four riding modes (Sport, Street, Rain, Custom), which work with traction, skid, wheelie, and with electronic suspension. It is installed in a die-cast aluminum frame completed with semi-active KYB suspension (Sport or Comfort mode).
