For the first time in more than 2 decades of existence, Xbox is going all out to succeed in the most important markets and this includes having a success, at least symbolic, in one that was historically denied: Japan. Although the passage of Xbox One through one of the gaming capitals was terrible, now the reality is different with Xbox Series X | S and the shadow of the past is behind us.

Xbox continues to rise in Japan and turning its own history around
The independent analyst of the video game industry, Mauro NL, shared information on his Twitter account that refers to the news of Xbox Series X | S in Japan. There is good news and it is that Microsoft consoles, although led by Xbox Series S but not by much, have already sold more than 400,000 units. While the figure is far from a sales juggernaut like the Switch or the skyrocketing PS5 is having, it’s a huge victory for Microsoft in its drive to make peace with the past by looking to the future.
Xbox Series X|S has now sold over 400k consoles in Japan. Roughly 227k of those are Series S and the remaining 173k are Series X.
Xbox Series X|S has already outsold the Xbox One lifetime total of 140k consoles roughly 3 times!

Thanks to this result, which takes place just 2 years after the launch of Xbox Series X | S in Japan, the Microsoft gaming brand is preparing to make history. Why? What happens is that the sales figure for its first system was 472,994 units, while Xbox One is 140,700, that is, it is on track to surpass the start it had in that market and its worst moment. At the same time, the goal to overcome is the 1,614,940 sold by Xbox 360, its most successful console in Japan, and at the rate it is going, there is no doubt that it will achieve it at some point.
