War Russia Ukraine, EU: political agreement for new military aid to Ukraine
The 27 foreign ministers Ue meeting today in Brussels for the foreign affairs council gave the political go-ahead for a new tranche of military aid to Ukraine worth 500 millions within the framework of the resources of the European Peace Facility. This was announced by the Swedish rotating presidency. The formal decision, underlining diplomatic sources, will instead be taken by an upcoming Coreper (the committee of permanent representatives at theUe).

The war in Ukraine is in its 333rd day: after days of indecision, Germany gives its approval and opens the way to sending tanks to Ukraineannouncing that Berlin is ready to authorize Poland to supply them to Kiev.
Moscow’s reaction was immediate: “The supply of offensive weapons to Kiev would lead to a global disaster“.
Risk of World War III
Dmitry Medvedevthe deputy chairman of the Security Council of Russia, said: “The world is approaching the risk of World War III in the face of aggressive preparations against Russia“.
“The special operation being carried out in Ukraine was a forced and extreme measure, a response to the preparation of aggression by the United States of America and its satellites. It is obvious that the world has come close to the threat of a third world war for what happened,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov is visiting South Africa and, at a press conference, told the foreign press: “The war with the West is no longer hybrid, but almost real“.
The Kremlin also comments on the news of the German ok to send tanks to Kiev from third countries such as Poland, through the words of Putin’s spokesman, Dmitrij Peskov : “The European countries that contribute directly or indirectly to flooding Ukraine with weapons are responsible, and the Ukrainian people will pay for this pseudo-support”.
And continues: “At the moment there are no conditions for peace negotiationsneither de facto nor de jure. We listen to the declarations of Kiev, we know the legal justification of the impossibility of negotiations by the Ukrainian regime. Therefore, we can de facto recognize one thing: there are no conditions for such negotiations to take place,” in response to the question of whether the time has come for peace talks between Russia and Ukraine.
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergeij also speaks Ryabkov: “Weapons sent by Western countries to the Kiev regime will be crumbled by the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Russia’s opponents continue to raise the stakes, but, as we have stated with absolute firmness and confidence more than once: the goals of the special military operation will still be achieved, and all this military equipment that is coming to Ukraine from various sources and in a growing stream, it will literally crumble”.
Zelensky: “Western tanks don’t solve the problem, but they motivate the army”
“Providing Ukraine with dozens of Western tanks against the thousands Russia has doesn’t solve the problem, but it motivates the army,” Zelensky said. “Since the Russian army, which has a thousand tanks, is against us, no country solves the problem by deciding to give 10, 20, 50 tanks. They do one very important thing: they motivate our soldiers to fight for the own values, because they show that the whole world is with us”.
