One of the most anticipated returns in the industry is undoubtedly that of GoldenEye 007, which is about to be available on Nintendo Switch and Xbox consoles. It’s a matter of hours for users to try it and it was Phil Spencer who took a moment to remember the “journey” they had to do to make the game a reality.
The game arrives this Friday
As you probably know, GoldenEye 007 was originally released in 1997 for the Nintendo 64, and became a classic on the console and even for that generation. Decades have passed and now new users will be able to try it on the hybrid console and on Xbox.
There is very little left for the users of the aforementioned platforms to enjoy this new mission of agent 007, so the head of Xbox published a message where he shared his feelings about it.
Here you can see it:
The journey to get GoldenEye 007 out on Xbox has been a long one :-), great to finally get to bring it to Xbox and @XboxGamePass. This @RareLtd classic is also coming out on #NintendoSwitch @NintendoAmericahowever you decide to play, this a classic worth playing. https://t.co/DHrTqQ4CWc

“The journey to launch GoldenEye 007 on Xbox has been a long one, it’s great to finally be able to bring it to Xbox and Xbox Game Pass. This Rare classic will also be coming out on Nintendo Switch. Wherever you decide to play it, this is a classic worth playing,” said the Xbox boss.
As you can see, Spencer is really happy to get the acclaimed title to Xbox, all after the tremendous process that was required due to licensing issues and even a canceled remaster.

In addition to this, and as a curious fact, Uncle Phil invited you to play this title regardless of the console you choose between Switch and Xbox, a comment that undoubtedly speaks well of him and confirms his position of saying goodbye to the supposed “War of consoles”.
We remind you that GoldenEye 007 will be available starting this January 27 on Nintendo Switch (for Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers) and for Xbox consoles, including Xbox Game Pass.
