LONDON, 20 JAN – Former British prime minister Boris Johnson is convinced that Russia does not intend to unleash a “nuclear war” on the Ukrainian issue under any circumstances, even in the face of an escalation of war aid from NATO countries to Kiev. And he said it today in mocking tones towards President Vladimir Putin, speaking at an ad hoc session on the war on the sidelines of the Davos economic forum. BoJo branded the tsar as a reincarnation of fat Joe, the indolent “fat boy” of Charles Dickens’ Pickwick Papers, who believes “he makes our skin crawl” with unreliable menacing attitudes. He then reiterated that the allies must not hesitate to follow the example of the United Kingdom towards an increase in military supplies to Kiev. Johnson – present in Davos unlike current prime minister Rishi Sunak, who succeeded him after Liz Truss’s ephemeral spell at the head of the Tory government – was also invited to today’s event due to his role as “privileged friend” of Ukraine among Western leaders by President Voldymyr Zelensky during his tenure at Downing Street. And he was introduced as a figure who “became legendary among Ukrainians” (however divisive he may be considered among his British compatriots). (HANDLE).
