Turkey Strongly Condemns Israel’s Deadly Attacks in West Bank. PHOTO/Reuters
WEST BANK – Ministry of Foreign Affairs Turki on Thursday (26/1/2023) strongly condemned the attack that led to the killing of civilians in West Bank . Turkey says it is “deeply concerned” over the escalating tensions and the loss of life it is experiencing “almost daily”.
“We have learned with sadness that many Palestinians lost their lives during the attack by Israeli troops on the Jenin Refugee Camp in the West Bank on Thursday morning,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said, as quoted by Anadolu Agency.

The ministry reiterated Turkey’s call to the Israeli authorities to take the necessary measures effectively to prevent an escalation of tensions in the region and loss of life.
The statement expressed Turkey’s condolences to the Palestinian state and its people, and God’s mercy to the Palestinian people who lost their lives in the recent attacks.
At least nine Palestinians were killed and 20 others injured by Israeli soldiers in the occupied West Bank on Thursday, according to Palestinian sources.
The Palestinian Health Ministry said in a statement that nine people died in the Jenin refugee camp, adding that an elderly woman was among the victims. The ministry said 20 others were injured, with four of them in critical condition.

On Thursday, eyewitnesses told Anadolu that an Israeli soldier stormed the Jenin refugee camp, leading to clashes between dozens of Palestinians and Israeli soldiers.
Witnesses noted that clashes broke out between dozens of Palestinians and Israeli troops who used live and metal bullets as well as tear gas canisters.
Tensions have risen in the West Bank in recent weeks amid repeated Israeli attacks to arrest what they say they “want Palestinians” or to destroy Palestinian homes.
