On Saturday (14/1/2023) an aircraft belonging to the TNI in Serambakon, Gunung Bintang Regency, Papua, was allegedly shot at by the West Papua National Liberation Army-Free Papua Organization (TPNPB-OPM).
They claim responsibility for the shooting.
“Shooting again at the TNI aircraft in the Bintang Mountains, Papua. The shooting location was in Yapimakaot Village in the Serambakon District,” said OPM TPNPB spokesman Sebby Sambom in his statement.
This shooting action was a series of attacks carried out by TPNPB-OPM.

Previously on Thursday 12 January, they also claimed to have cut off the flow of clean water to the capital of Gunung Bintang Regency.
“We have carried out this action at 14.00 Papua time, the location is in the Gunung Bintang District, Oksibil District, Mabilabol Village,” said Sebby.
Then, before that they also said they had shot the TNI at the Koramil Post, Maybrat Regency on Wednesday 11 January 2023.
At the time of the attack they claimed there was no response from the TNI.
“Only they withdrew, while our victims were not yet known and the following we remained in position,” said Sebby.
