DC Studios is the new division of Warner Bros. Discovery that will seek to create productions based on comic book characters for film and television. One of its executive directors, James Gunn, finally broke the silence and revealed the list of projects that will make up this new stage.
These will be the next movies and series of DC Studios: Batman, Superman, Supergirl and more
Through a post on Twitter, the filmmaker confirmed that one of his goals is to create a connected universe in film, television, gaming, and animation. The goal is for the characters to be played by the same actors and to be part of the same plot line.
Of course, James Gunn confirmed that neighboring projects can coexist with the universe that he plans with producer Peter Safran for the next 10 years. He explains that Shazam: Fury of the Gods, The Flash, Aquaman 2, and Blue Beetle are still standing.
In addition, the creative confirmed that The Batman – Part II with Matt Reeves and Robert Pattinson will arrive on October 3, 2025 and assured that the Joker sequel will be a reality. These projects that stray away from the main DC universe (DCU) will fall into a category known as DC Elseworlds.

New DCU series
James Gunn revealed some of the projects that will make up Chapter 1 called Gods & Monsters. These are the series that will be part of the new DC universe.
Creature Commando: animated series written by James Gunn. It will have 7 episodes and will tell the story of how Amanda Waller, the infamous director of the Suicide Squad, forms another team known as the Monstrous Prisoners.
Waller: Viola Davis will return to play Amanda Waller once again in this new story. The writers will be Christal Henry (Watchmen) and Jeremy Carver (Supernatural). While plot details remain a mystery, part of the cast of HBO’s Peacemaker will return.

Lanterns: The story of this series will revolve around a “dark mystery” and will be a kind of True Detective. The protagonists will be Hal Jordan and John Stewart, but other Green Lanterns are expected to appear.
Booster Gold: It seems that this series will have a humorous tone. It will be the story of Booster Gold, a time traveler.
Paradise Lost: This show will be set in Themyscira, Wonder Woman’s homeland. It will be a political intrigue drama and I am expected to have a similar style to Game of Thrones.
New DCU movies
Without a doubt, the new DC universe led by James Gunn and Peter Safran will have very interesting movies.
Superman Legacy: According to James Gunn, this production will be the real beginning of Chapter 1 of the DCU. He will be the writer and he explains that the story will follow Kal-El, who will try to find his humanity while playing his role as the hero. It is the only production with a release date: July 11, 2025.
The Authority: Superman Legacy will connect with this production, which will narrate the events experienced by a group of 7 heroes known as The Authority. It is expected to include the first appearance of WildStorm.
Batman The Brave and the Bold: tape inspired by the comic written by Grant Morrison, will tell the story of Batman and Robin (Damian Wayne). It has no relation to Robert Pattinson’s The Batman.
Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow: As the name suggests, this feature film will focus on Zara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin.
Swamp Thing: the fearsome character will come to the big screen at the hands of director Wes Craven. It will be a tape with overtones of terror.
But tell us, what do you think of these projects? Did they catch your attention? Do you think James Junn and Peter Safran made the right decisions? Let us read you in the comments.
