Despite not being, by far, one of his most successful stories—although not one of the least popular either—Children of the Corn is a short story by Stephen King that has already fueled nine film adaptations and, soon, a tenth.
The writer’s story was first adapted in 1984 and has become a cult film. The last film in the saga arrived in 2018, and it was announced that another installment, a prequel, would arrive in 2020. All of that was before the pandemic, of course.
There was an attempt for the prequel to Children of the Corn to hit theaters in the fall of 2022, but it went awry with the reconfigurations that the release schedules have suffered. Luckily, it seems that order has already been established and Stephen King’s adaptation will arrive very soon, at least in the United States.
