In a little less than two months the 95th edition of the Oscarsthe most prestigious event in Hollywood in which the United States Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences values the work of all those involved in the world of cinema in recent months.
A couple of hours ago, the complete list of Oscar 2023 nominees was released, in which directors, actors and screenwriters aspire to win the coveted award of the Academy.
Among all the candidates, among the favorites to compete for the award are films such as Everything at the same time everywhere, Almas en bano by Inisherin or Los Fabelmans, which are among the films with the highest number of nominations.
The Academy will recover the categories that it left out in the last broadcast of the Oscars
The 2022 Oscars ceremony was quite popular, not only because of Will Smith’s slap to Chris Rock, but also because the Academy withdrew eight of the award categories from the broadcast.
The categories that were left out of the last edition of the Oscars were Best Documentary Short Film, Best Editing, Best Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Original Composition, Best Production Design, Best Animated Short Film, Best Live Action Short Film and Best Sound.
There were not few filmmakers of Hollywood who criticized the Academy’s decision to withdraw those categories. What’s more, some of the members of the organization even resigned from their position because they felt that the Academy belittled their work.
In view of this, the Academy has backed down and will retransmit all the awards in full at the 2023 Oscars ceremonywhich will take place on March 13, 2023 and will be hosted by the presenter and comedian Jimmy Kimmel after the resignation of Chris Rock to host the Oscars again.
