Apparently the The Last of Us series came to make a difference, since as we told you this Monday, it has united the community of gamers like never before, who have received it quite well, in general. This is because, just as film and series critics think, many fans think that it is the best LIVE ACTION adaptation of a video game in all of history. And I write live action in capital letters to take it back, since I previously said that it was the best adaptation outright and there are already some animated adaptations of video games that could be classified as better than the HBO series.

Production that has won that position within the hearts of gamers for its good performances and respect for the video game originally released in 2013 on the PlayStation 3. Thanks to this, the series generated such a large audience that it surpassed the NFL in trends in United States, also causing some of the HBO Max servers around the world to collapse due to high demand.
As indicated in the Deadline medium, the adaptation of The Last of Us reached 4.7 million viewers, among those who watched the premiere on the television channel and on its streaming platform. Figure that to give you an idea of how big it is, places the series starring Pedro Pascal as HBO’s biggest debut, after House of the Dragon and Boardwalk Empire.
Reception that was appreciated by the creators of the series Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann (also creator of the video game) who said that their goal was “simply to make the best possible adaptation of this beloved story, for the largest possible audience”, adding that they are “thrilled to see how many fans, both old and new, have welcomed The Last of Us into their homes and hearts.”
