There are a lot of hospital series, and they all have a special appeal that makes the public empathize with them and their characters. However, Scrubs managed to fascinate for nine years with a sitcom concept in a work environment.
The decade in which The Office enamored the world was very ripe for these sitcoms set in workplaces, and series as Parks and Recreation or, later, Superstore o Brooklyn Nine Ninethey would take the baton too.
Another show that streamlined the concept from the early 2000s was Scrubs, which took us to the hospital. Sacred heart with a Department of doctors and ancillary staff so utterly insane that they easily enamored the public.
After nine years, the same seasons and 182 episodes hilarious, Scrubs was canceled by ABC in 2010, leaving a void that even the best ER in the world couldn’t fill.
Will there be a Scrubs team meeting?
The actor who brought JD to life in Scrubs, Zach Braffhas recently met with the creator of the series, Bill Lawrenceon the occasion of the premiere of Terapia sin filtro, the Apple TV+ series with Harrison Ford and Jason Segel.
During his chat with TV Insider, Braff was asked if he would be willing to meet with the cast of Scrubs for a series reunion.
The actor passed the hot potato to Bill Lawrence, but made it clear that he and the rest of the team would be more than willing.
“I think if he can figure it out, every one of us would say yes,” Zach Braff said. Lawrence, for his part, tried to divert the subject.
The doctors, nurses and auxiliary personnel of the Sacred Heart gave us iconic moments in one of the funniest series of the last decades, which you can see on Disney+, by the way. Would you like the Scrubs cast to reunite?
