A several-month-old baby has been located by the Mossos d’Esquadra in the Barcelona neighborhood of Sants. The child had been abandoned inside a sports bag. Shortly after 6:00 a.m., the Mossos received a call from a citizen who warned that he had found a baby inside this bag.
According to various sources related to the case, the child would be between one and two months old. At first, the minor was treated by the emergency medical service and after that first examination, he was transferred to the Sant Joan de Deu Hospital. Despite the freezing temperatures in recent days, the little boy has not had to be admitted to the ICU and there is no fear for his life.
The residents of the area where the child appeared are very affected by what happened and cannot believe that someone has left the baby out in the open on one of the coldest days in memory in the city of Barcelona.
The presenter of Espejo Público Susanna Griso added that acting like this “does not make any sense because there are many couples on the waiting list to be parents and they do not understand that you leave a child in a sports bag on the street with such low temperatures.”
