Do you want to see more of Marvel in the cinema? Here are 5 awesome dimensions that the MCU could use in the movies.
With Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania going to the Quantum Realm, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has some interesting perspectives on which dimensions and realms should be shown next. The third Ant-Man movie will kick off Phase 5 of the UCM on February 17. But it’s just the latest of the franchises to explore strange dimensions and mysterious alternate realms.
The first to appear was Asgard and the Nine Realms related to Thor. Little by little more were revealed, like the Mirror Dimension in Doctor Strange. And also the various afterlife realities of the Astral Plane, Duat and Valhalla. Not to mention all the incredible realities we were shown in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. However, Marvel Studios could have a lot more in store.
These are the 5 dimensions of Marvel that we could see in the cinema soon!
The Negative Zone
The mysterious Negative Zone
Of the alternate dimensions yet to be introduced to Marvel Studios, the Negative Zone is by far the best known and most important of the comics. It was first introduced in 1966 and is essentially a parallel universe to reality made up entirely of antimatter. As such, traveling there is incredibly dangerous. But Reed Richards of the Fantastic Four successfully built the first portal. As such, theories abound that the Negative Zone could play a role in the impending introduction of the Fantastic Four into the MCU. Their reversed polarity could grant them their powers, or their accelerated time passage would mean they could enter the 1960s and emerge in the present.
Marvel Studios Olympus
The famous Olympus in the cartoons
Thor: Love and Thunder marked an impressive expansion of the role of the gods at Marvel Studios, introducing their natural enemy, Gorr the Butcher God, and traveling to the City of Almighty, seat of the parliament of pantheons ruled by Zeus. Importantly, the film introduced Hercules, played by Brett Goldstein, thus paving the way for Olympus to have a significant presence in the MCU. Like Asgard, Olympus is a pocket dimension, home of the Olympians, and is connected to the Olympian underworld, Hades. Other similar pocket dimensions exist for other pantheons of gods, such as Celestial Heliopolis for the Ennead, the Egyptian gods featured in Moon Knight.
Demonic Limbo
There are several dimensions and realities called Limbo in Marvel Comics. The Loki series already showed one inside Marvel Studios, in a sense, when Loki and Sylvie traveled to the realm of the One Who Lies outside of time. Another alternative and more interesting dimension for the MCU is the Demonic Limbo. She is best associated with X-Men character Illyana Rasputin aka Magik, as her mutant powers of teleportation allow her to travel to and from the dark realm. As a child, she was kidnapped and raised by Belasco, the ruler of the realm, but Illyana rebelled and escaped from her demonic prison.
mojo world
There is a lot of expectation for the official presentation of the X-Men at Marvel Studios. Deadpool 3 is the logical candidate at this point, but it may be Avengers: Secret Wars that puts the Earth-616 team in the spotlight. From there, they’ll be taking center stage, presumably. Luckily, there’s no shortage of fantastic arcs to adapt, like when they found themselves dragged into Mojo World. Is an extra-dimensional realm and home of the Spineless, among whom is the aptly named Mojo. He runs a televised gladiatorial contest that has threatened the X-Men on several occasions, so hopefully he and Mundo Mojo will be a part of the MCU one day.
Avalon at Marvel Studios
The shining world of Avalon
Another example of a god’s pocket dimension is the Otherworld and the realm of Avalon. It is home to the Tuatha de Danaan, the Celtic gods, but has some important connections to the Multiverse as a nexus point connecting various universes and realities. It’s a fantastic realm to explore as part of the ongoing Multiverse Saga, and luckily the character who will do it is poised to enter Marvel Studios. Captain Britain acts as a champion protecting the Multiverse as part of the Captain Britain Corps, a coalition of variants of the hero.
