After the coup with Milan in the Italian Cup, grenade defeated at home by Gotti’s team. The penalty for Djidji’s handball decides in the 28th minute
January 15 – Turin
The much energy spent on Wednesday in the 120 minutes of the Coppa Italia betrayed the Bull. Favoring the external coup of Spezia who passes to the Olimpico Grande Torino thanks to a penalty converted by Nzola in the first half, and in the second half takes the crossbar with Gyasi. Three platinum points for the Ligurians in the race for salvation, a very severe punishment for the grenades instead of holding back in the championship after the masterpiece at San Siro: two points between Verona, Salernitana and Spezia in the first three matches of 2023 are decidedly few.
little energy

Juric confirms the veterans of the San Siro night. The only change in the eleven is the inclusion of Vojvoda on the left (Rodrguid left in Milan), the other ten are the protagonists who started the Coppa Italia masterpiece. Risky choice, being the fourth match in ten days and so close to Wednesday at the San Siro. Perhaps too much gratitude from the coach towards those who made him great at San Siro. A choice that, in the end, will prove wrong. Toro holds the ball a lot in the first half hour, starting with two or three guessed throws from a fairly inspired Ricci, but then ends up getting lost on the trocar. He pays for the little energy left in the tank, and in fact goes there at half-time without having shot Dragowski’s target even once.
I’m rigorous

Lo Spezia, on the other hand, certainly doesn’t have to deal with this problem. Gotti can present his best formation, man on man: 3-4-1-2 starting form, with a particular sensitivity on the position of Agudelo advanced behind the two strikers Nzola-Gyasi. It doesn’t take much effort for Spezia to contain the first decent half hour of the Toro’s dribble. The grenades turn the ball around but travel at a slower pace, facilitating Gotti’s plan to close, break and restart. At the first counterattack (23′) Holm engages Milinkovic. Four minutes later, then, the episode that upsets the balance arrives: Reca ends from inside the area, Djidji opposes him and turns his back to the La Spezia player. The ball slams into Djidji’s right arm, and the referee Ghersini assigns a penalty that Nzola doesn’t miss in the 28th minute. In the 45th minute, Al Toro was disallowed by Vlasic due to an offside by Sanabria, but the reaction was timid. Guests ahead at half game.
traversa of the gas

When we start again, Juric immediately inserts two changes: Linetty for Lukic and Rodriguez for Schuurs. In the first minute, a triple chance for Toro in the same action with Vlasic, Singo and Linetty: all three attempts blocked by the host defense. Juric must have raised his voice in the locker room, because in the first quarter of an hour of the second half, Toro showed at least more desire. It’s more a blaze than a real attempt to get back on track: the grenades are unable to recover the disadvantaged goal, indeed it is Spezia who are very close to doubling their lead with Gyasi’s crossbar (65′). After the hour of play, Karamoh (for Sanabria) and Radonjic (for Miranchuk) enter to liven up the attack. Spezia doesn’t just hold on, they respond blow by blow by appearing regularly in the offensive zone. Gotti’s first substitutions fell fifteen minutes from the end with Ekdal and Ferrer in (Holm and Bourabia out). It’s not a day for Toro who nearly equalized only in the third minute of injury time with a header from Djidji controlled by Dragowski in a dive. For Spezia it is a day of celebration.
