The Norwegian dominates in front of the Swiss couple Rogentin-Odermatt. The blue is back among the best
The duel continues and the Wengen stage, at least for the super-G, this time rewards Aleksander Aamodt Kilde. It was the Norwegian who won in 1’47″84 on the very fast track designed by the Italian coach Lorenzo Galli: second success of the season in the specialty, -1 behind Marco Odermatt, third at 66/100 and also behind the other Swiss Stefan Rogentin ( second at 27/100) never on the Cup podium before in his career. But there is good news also for Italy.
Here comes Paris
—
In a very fast race and disturbed by the wind especially in the upper part Dominik Paris returns to be seen among the best also in super-G. Domme was very good especially in the final, in which he recorded the best intermediate: at the finish line he finished 1”17 behind Kriechmayr. “We needed it, the start of the season was a bit difficult – commented Paris -. I’m happy that he lapped well today. I knew I had to give everything, I didn’t feel good at the top but I tried to hold on until the end to get a good placement”. For Italy it is the first seasonal top 10 in the specialty. A signal at the right time: tomorrow there’s the downhill, next weekend we’ll be racing in Kitzbuehel. At 1”78 finished Mattia Casse, thirteenth, best position of the season in super-G. Instead Christof Innerhofer fell, finished in the nets but then able to ski to the finish. Things went worse for Giovanni Franzoni, one of the most eagerly awaited young Azzurri: after the fall in the upper part of the track he was transported to the hospital by helicopter.
